PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which a front opening part in a slit shape provided on the abdominal side part of the underpants type absorbent article does not open by weight of absorbed urine and an absorber does not get twisted nor split after urination. SOLUTION: The underpants type absorbent article 1 is provided with an exterior sheet 20 having an abdominal side part, a back side part, and a crotch part and an absorbent body 10 including an absorber, where the absorbent body is fixed inside the exterior sheet at least within a range from the crotch part to the abdominal part. The article 1 has a front opening part 20p which links outside and inside at the abdominal side part where the exterior sheet and the absorbent body are separate and opens in the vertical direction. The article 1 disposes a plurality of front opening prevention elastic members 23 mutually separate which pass a lower part of the front opening part from an upper end part of the abdominal side part and extend to the other upper end part of the abdominal side part. A mountain-shaped embossment 17 going from an end part in the longitudinal direction of the absorber body to a central part is formed at a part opposite to the front opening part of the absorber body.
