PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector which carries out impedance matching at a connecting part of a cable with the connector, and preventing a deterioration of high-frequency characteristics. SOLUTION: The connector comprises at least ground contacts, a locator by which a part of the ground contacts is aligned and held, a housing which holds the contacts and the locator, a ground plate, and a holder which holds the ground plate. The ground plate has first and second faces, and a ground terminal. The ground terminal is connected to the ground contacts. A signal wire and a drain wire have a structure that they are arranged on the first face together, and the drain wire is routed around on the second face, and then connected to the ground plate.
