<p>A light emitting device (10) is provided with a light emitting element (1), and a luminous flux control member (2) for controlling light emitted from the light emitting element (1). The luminous flux control member (2) is composed of a light entering surface (2a) where the light emitted from the light emitting element (1) enters, and a light outgoing surface (2b). When a distance which is away from the luminous flux control member (2) by a certain distance in a direction parallel to an optical axis (Z) of the light emitting device (10), on a flat surface vertical to the optical axis (Z) from the optical axis (Z) is expressed by (r), an angle formed by light emitted from the light emitting element (1) and the optical axis is expressed by (Ï<sub>1</sub>), and light distribution characteristic of the light emitting element (1) is expressed by P(Ï<sub>1</sub>), the light emitting device, in which luminance nonuniformity on a liquid crystal display panel is not generated, light is diffused, reflectance due to Fresnel reflection is reduced and diffuseness is improved, is provided by satisfying the mathematical formula (1).</p> |
