POWER FLOW CONTROLLER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power flow controller in which the phase of power can be adjusted and which is so compact that it can be mounted on a pole.

SOLUTION: The power flow controller 1 includes multiple (three) rotary phase shifters 2 to 4 installed between a first alternating-current power systemαand a second alternating-current power systemβ. Each phase shifter 2 to 4 includes a rotor and a stator. Each rotor is placed (in series) between the first alternating-current power systemαand the second alternating-current power systemβ. Each stator is connected (in parallel) with the first alternating-current power systemα. (Neither of the phase shifters 3, 4 is connected to the first alternating-current power system.) The phase shifters 2 to 4 are connected in series with one another.
