PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel not hindering a discharge phenomenon, fully removing impurity gas such as moisture and hydrocarbon, and restraining degradation of a protective layer or phosphor. SOLUTION: The panel is provided with a front substrate 1 with a plurality of display electrodes aligned consisting of scanning electrodes 2 and sustaining electrodes 3, and with a dielectric layer 4 formed so as to cover the display electrodes and a protective film 5 formed on the dielectric layer 4, and a rear-face substrate 6 arranged in opposition to the front substrate 1 so as to form discharge space with a plurality of data electrodes formed in a direction crossing the display electrodes so as to form discharge cells 11 at crossing points, and a blackstripe 12 fitted between the display electrodes of the front substrate. A hydrogen-absorbing material 13 containing palladium is arranged at a part corresponding to the blackstripe 12 on the protective film 5 of the front substrate 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
