PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade breaker 1 for easily and safely breaking a snap-off cutter blade in a required length. SOLUTION: A plurality of blade breaking grooves 102d with a prescribed inclination angle to the longitudinal direction are formed at fixed pitch in a cutter blade 102, and a cutter blade insertion part 10 which permits insertion of a part of the cutter blade 102 in the longitudinal direction is formed between one side plate and the other side plate. A cutting guide part 15a is located at the distal end of the cutter blade insertion part 10 in at least one of the one side plate and the other side plate as a fulcrum when the blade is broken. The cutting guide part 15a has an inclination angle corresponding to the blade breaking grooves 102d, and the length from the terminal end 18 of the cutter blade insertion part 10 to the cutting guide part 15a is the length corresponding to the length from one end edge 102b of the cutter blade 102 to a specific blade breaking groove 102d<SB>5</SB>.
