PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch device which can be miniaturized in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the rotary axis line of a shaft. SOLUTION: A recessed part 22 guides a contact holder 31 to a direction not perpendicular to the direction of a rotation axis M of a shaft 14. A pair of passive plates 33, 34, which convert a pressing force acting around the rotation axis M of the shaft 14 at a pressing member 16a to a guiding direction of the recessed part 22, are mounted on the contact holder 31. Then, the pressing member 16a presses inner surfaces 331, 341 of the passive plates 33, 34, so that the contact holder 31 is moved to the guiding direction of the recessed part 22.
