PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scarcely colored alignment layer having especially good alignment property. SOLUTION: A photo-alignment material is provided which includes at least one polymer having photo-alignment ability as an A component and includes at least one polymer having a liquid crystal temperature range within a range of 100-300°C as a B component. A preferred example of the A component is a polyamic acid or polyimide having a photosensitive group such as -N=N- in its main chain. A preferred example of the B component is a liquid-crystalline polyamic acid or polyimide having a 6-20C linear alkylene structure in its main chain. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
