The device has a retention device (8) for retaining a component (2) to be tested, and a hydraulic system (3) for supplying a medium (13) to the component. A scale (4) produces a set of mass signals, and a time recording device (5) produces associated time signals to the mass signals, respectively. A processor (6) computes continuous values for a mass flow by the component based on a mass and a time difference of the mass and time signals. A switching device (7) is arranged in the hydraulic system in a flow direction after the component. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring a mass flow through a component.
