An improved protective cover for an angle grinder, especially for trimming hooves and claws of livestock, has one cover (10, 11) completely covering the rear and edge of the rotating disc. The working face of the disc is protected by a workpiece surface (16) angled sloping towards the disc at one edge and with a segment shaped window for access to part of the working surface of the disc. The user slides the workpiece, e.g. hoof, down the slope and onto the disc. The major part of the disc is fully protected at all times.
