PURPOSE: A cutting insert is provided to effectively emit heat by easily discharging chips and minimize impact force generated during a cutting process. CONSTITUTION: A cutting insert comprises an upper surface(150), a lower surface, side surfaces(110,120,130,140), and a through hole(190). The upper surface and lower surface are faced to each other. The side surfaces connect the upper surface and the lower surface which are faced to each other. The through hole is formed across the upper surface and the lower surface. The upper surface comprises a first area(151) and a second area(152). The first area is contiguous to cutting edges(111-1,121-1,131-1,141-1). The second area is positioned between the first area and the through hole and surrounds the through hole. The first area is formed along the cutting edges.
