Video intercom with an external station that records people using a camera

The interphone has a home station connected with an external station (1) that records persons using a camera (4). Heat radiation is detected within an entire recording region of the camera over temperature measuring points (8A, 8B) e.g. thermopile array. A defined zoom image section is derived from the region using a processing- and control device (12) of the external station. The device produces a sensor signal (sL) for switching-on a person light (18) and a mains-operated light (21) if a significant increase of heat from the external station is detected by the measuring points. The person light and the mains-operated light are formed by infrared LEDs.
