<p>A method of transmitting or receiving data comprises separating the data into a plurality of data subsets. Parity data is then generated from the plurality of data subsets (e.g. using XOR) such that any one or more of the plurality of data subsets may be recreated from the remaining data subsets and the parity data. The plurality of data subsets and parity data are then transmitted, possibly on different channels. The separation and generation steps can be repeated on any one or more of the plurality of data subsets and parity data providing further data subsets and further parity data.</p> |
