Invention herewith presented describes an axe with a counterweight has a novelty in that it consists of a base (1), a rest (2), a carrier (3) for wood logs, a bearing (4), an axle (5), a handle (6), an axe holder (7), a counterweight (8) and an axe (9). The base (1) is made of a steel plate. At one end of the base (1) there are two supports (2) welded, whereon positioned over the axle (5) and the bearing (4) is the axe (9) with the counterweight (8). At the other end of the base (1) there is the carrier (3) welded, whereto positioned is the wood log for cutting thereon. The carrier (3) is made of steel pipes. At one end of the holder (7), the axe (9) is welded and at the other end is fixed the counter weight (8) by means of a screw (10). The axe (9) is balanced by the counterweight (8) so as to be raised easily by the handle (6). When there is a need to cut wood logs, the handle (6) is quickly pulled downward and the axe (9) in a high speed and power hits and cuts the wood log.
