<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance efficiency while keeping silencing effect without increase in the number of part items and increase in size. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a hermetically-sealed compressor for discharging fluid into an enclosed vessel 13 through a first discharge hole provided at a second chamber within a cover 9, one or more second discharge holes with a smaller diameter than that of the first discharge hole are provided, on the cover 9 in the vicinity of a discharge port 7a, so that a portion of discharge fluid to be discharged from the discharge port 7a is discharged in sequence into the enclosed vessel 13 at near side in a passage within the cover 9 of a pressure mechanism portion. A cross-sectional area of a passage between the cover 9 and the pressure mechanism portion, and an opening area of the first discharge hole provided at the cover 9 are made smaller than the cross-sectional areas of the first, second chambers, and the hermetically-sealed compressor is designed in an expansion type muffler structure.
