The invention relates to a protection system to detect the presence of life forms inside a closable holding area or otherwise risk-relevant holding area, in particular the linens holding area of a washing machine or linen dryer, a stove, a microwave oven and in particular in cabinets and chests. According to a first aspect of the present invention, the object described above is met by a protective apparatus to detect the presence of life forms inside of a risk-relevant holding area, said apparatus comprising a first electrode device facing the holding area as such and forming part of an LC network, and a second electrode device likewise facing the holding area and forming part of an LC network, and an evaluation circuit to detect the dynamics of electric field interactions with at least one of the two electrode devices, wherein the detected dynamics is compared to the comparison values provided for the instantaneous operating state of the holding area, wherein a protective function is initiated when the detected dynamics deviate from the comparison values provided. |
