<p>The expression levels of genes, gene transcripts, or gene products can be used as biological markers to improve treatment of cancer in a patient using antifolate drugs. The present invention relates to thyroid transcription factor 1 as a biological marker for treating cancer in a patient using an antifolate, such as pemetrexed.</p>
