A method and device for anchor data path function (A-DPF) handover are disclosed by the embodiments of the present invention, which enables the handover of A-DPF. The method comprises: the proxy mobile IP (PMIP) client, which locates in source access service network gateway (ASN_GW), generates a register request (RRQ) for the terminal according to the foreign agent care of address (FA-CoA) of target ASN; source ASN_GW sends Anchor_DPF_HO_Req message, in which the RRQ is encapsulated, to target ASN_GW so as to enable target ASN_GW send the RRQ to home agent (HA); and source ASN_GW receives Anchor_DPF_HO_Rsp message from target ASN_GW, in which the register response (RRP) from HA is encapsulated.
