PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which performs start processing or end processing of reception of terrestrial digital one-segment broadcast with successful operability. SOLUTION: The portable terminal is provided with: a housing; an antenna which constitutes a state of being pulled outside the housing and a state of being stored inside the housing; a broadcast receiving means for receiving broadcast via the antenna to output a video-sound signal based on the received broadcast; a detection means for detecting a state of the position of the antenna; and a control means for controlling the start or the end of reception of the broadcast by the broadcast receiving means according to the state of the position of the antenna which has been detected by the detection means.
