The invention relates to a system for assisting the implantation of a hip prosthesis in an individual that includes an acetabulum to be placed in the iliac bone of said individual and a femoral part to be connected to the femur of said individual, and that includes: a human body imaging means including a means for registering the position of images in space; a means for calculating the pelvic version of said individual in at least three reference situations, i.e. standing, lying and sitting, through the analysis of the images supplied by said imaging means; a means for measuring the position of said acetabulum relative to the pelvis of said individual; a means for simultaneously restoring information representative of the prosthetic mobility of the hip relative to each of said reference situations for the current position of said acetabulum, as well as a means for determining the position of at least three apexes of the anatomic acetabulum of the individual, and a means for correcting said information representative of the prosthetic mobility in order to take into account anatomic collision limits.
