<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a nip width that is equal to or greater than a fixed value and to obtain a satisfactory image by preventing a change of a heating roller 1 in its length direction and also preventing wear and foam breakage of a foamed rubber layer 1b, supporting a metal conductive layer 1c which is a thin film. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fixing device 1 can secure the nip width that is equal to or greater than the fixed value, by using the heating roller having the metal conductive layer of the thin film, and the foamed rubber layer 1b which is made to adhere to the ends of the metal conductive layer, and has a space in its central portion, where the foamed rubber layer 1b is not made to adhere to the metal conductive layer 1c.
