<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater 11 eliminating intermediate temperature water in hot water storage tanks 16, 17 and preventing deterioration in boiling efficiency when boiling hot water by a heat pump unit 13. <P>SOLUTION: The lower part of the first hot water storage tank 16 and the upper part of the second hot water storage tank 17 are connected in series by a connection pipe 18. When the upper part of the second hot water storage tank 17 has water, the upper part of the first hot water storage tank 16 has hot water and the lower part of the first hot water storage tank 16 has intermediate temperature water which cannot be used for hot water supply without changing it, hot water is stored in the upper part of the second hot water storage tank 17. Accompanied by the hot water supply from the upper part of the first hot water storage tank, hot water in the upper part of the second hot water storage tank 17 is made to flow into the lower part of the first hot water storage tank 16, and then, the hot water is mixed with the intermediate temperature water. Due to the mixing of the hot water with the intermediate temperature water, the temperature of the intermediate temperature water is raised to exceed a temperature allowing it to be used without a change, thus eliminating the intermediate temperature water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
