<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera and a mobile terminal which easily transmits and receives data to and from an external apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A proximity communication part 18 performs proximity wireless communication with an external apparatus 9. When communication with the external apparatus 9 is established, a displacement detection part 13 detects the displacement of a camera body 3 after the establishment of the communication. A transmission/reception control part 201 controls the transmission of data to the external apparatus 9 and the reception of data from the external apparatus 9 through the proximity communication part 18 so that the transmission of data and the reception of data are switched in accordance with the displacement direction of the camera body detected by the displacement detection part 13.
