<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam valve for a steam turbine, having a low cost and improving safety by suppressing thermal stress and reducing leak of steam by a steam condition of high temperature and high pressure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The steam valve for the steam turbine and for controlling driving steam supplied to the steam turbine includes a first steam chamber, which includes a mainstream steam inlet and a mainstream steam outlet and contains a valve element, and a second steam chamber containing the first steam chamber so that the steam chambers are constructed in an inside and out side double arrangement, wherein an air gap is provided between the first steam chamber and the second steam chamber and a means is provided for letting cooling steam flow in the air gap. The steam valve includes a valve stem driving the valve element for reciprocation and a bushing supporting a sliding range of the valve stem, and the bushing is divided at the air gap.
