<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device which can space-efficiently receive a workpiece hanging from a continuously transporting movable member and passes the workpiece to another transport path without stopping the movable member and can transfer the workpiece without being equipped with a special control device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The transfer device comprises: crawler chains 3, 4 which mesh with at least one of first and second drive chains C1, C2 which provide a driving force for first and second movable members 1, 2 moving along first and second transport rails L1, L2; a fixed sprocket and a straining sprocket supporting the crawler chains; gear groups 5, 6 working in engagement with the fixed sprocket; a spindle 7 horizontally rotating in engagement with the final gears 51, 61 of the gear groups; a link arm 8 disposed around the spindle; a hanger engagement portion disposed at a distal end of the link arm; a rolling portion disposed on the link arm; and a rolling guide portion 9 to guide a rolling position of the rolling portion.
