<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens that has high optical performance specifications, including high zoom ratio, wide angle of view, reduced F number and less aberrationss, and that enables an optical path to be bent readily by a reflecting optical element, such as mirror, and to provide an electronic imaging apparatus which uses the lens. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The zoom lens includes a moving lens group B (G2) that has positive refracting power and moves only toward the object side upon zooming from the wide-angle end to the telephoto end, and a lens group A (G1), which remains fixed during zooming located on the object side with respect to the moving lens group B, has a negative refractive power and remains fixed during zooming.
