<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressible container made of a synthetic resin excellent in aesthetic appearance, wherein a body part of the container can be evenly folded about the axial line thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A tubular opening part, a tubular neck part, a shoulder part integrally expanded in diameter from the tubular neck part the body part 14 connected to the shoulder part, and a bottom part connected to the body part 14 via a heel part are integrally formed. An upper side part and a lower side part of the body part 14 are formed to be a large-diameter part 14a and a small-diameter part 14b, respectively. Part of the large-diameter part 14a is recessed inward in the radial direction so as to form a first annular recessed part 1. Part of the small-diameter part 14b is recessed inward in the radial direction so as to be in contact with the large-diameter part 14a to form a second annular recessed part 2. The maximum depth D<SB>2</SB>of the second annular recessed part 2 from the large-diameter part 14 is deeper than the maximum depth D<SB>1</SB>of the first annular recessed part 1 from the large-diameter part 14 and is equal to or less than the axial direction dimension L<SB>B</SB>of the part between the first annular recessed part 1 and the second annular recessed part 2.
