An electronic storage apparatus includes a biometrics information input unit (4) for inputting biometrics information of a person to be authenticated, a collating unit (7) for comparing the biometrics feature information for collation with the biometrics feature information for reference, an authentication result holding unit (8) for holding the authentication result when the biometrics feature information for collation is authenticated to be of the owner himself/herself, a secret information output unit (13) capable of outputting outside secret information about the owner stored in a secret information storage unit (12), and an authentication result deletion unit (9) for deleting the authentication result held in the authentication result holding unit (8) when the secret information output unit (13) is detected to be unused by an unused state detection unit (11). This enhances the security intensity of a card type storage medium and facilitates the use of it by a user.
