PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fastening roller type one-way clutch equipped with a prolonged lifetime by hindering the idling wear, or at least decreasing it, avoiding a collision load at changing-over into the driving operation, and nevertheless, preventing the changing over into the driving operation from being influenced by attainment of the prescribed rotating speed for driving. SOLUTION: Fastening rollers 8 are surrounded by a protection ring 20 able to resiliently expand concentrically with respect to the axis of one-way clutch, and a means 24 is provided to hinder the ring 20 from turning together with the outer race 6 during the idling operation.
