A method is provided to automatically translate words as text is being entered. The method includes: monitoring the text being entered, determining if the text is a word in a first language for composing a document, if the text is not a word in the first language, looking up the text in an electronic bilingual dictionary for a translation of the text from a second language word in a second language to a first language word in the first language, and dis playing the first language word.
