<p>1453947 Lubricating grease DEUTSCHE TEXACO AG 27 Dec 1973 [30 Dec 1972] 59765/73 Heading C5P Greases comprise thickening agent which includes a lithium soap of a hydroxy-fatty acid containing 10 to 30 carbon atoms (e.g. 5-20 wt. per cent) and lithium tetraborate (e.g. 0À1-3 wt. per cent). In Example 1 grease is made by heating a machine oil raffinate with 12 - hydroxystearic acid, aqueous lithium hydroxide, dehydrating, adding lithium tetraborate (Li 2 B 4 O 7 ), heating with the addition of more machine oil, and milling; in Example 2 a grease is similarly made except that a mixture of alkylbenzenes and cylinder oil is used as the base oil and the methyl ester of 12-hydroxystearic acid is used; in Example 3 a grease is made as in Example 1 except that the methyl ester of 12-hydroxystearic acid is used and phenyl-alpha-naphthylamine and zinc diamyldithiocarbamate are added prior to milling.</p> |
