METHOD FOR MAKING THUMB-NAIL IMAGE OF IMAGE FRAME BASED ON H.264

PURPOSE: A method for making a thumb-nail image of an image frame based on H.264 is provided to generate a thumbnail image for an image of an H.264 standard by directly calculating a DC coefficient of an image block and the DC coefficient of the residual image block. CONSTITUTION: It is judged the intra-estimation mode of an estimation block of nth N×N image block(S2), and the estimation reference data of a transform area for n+1th N×N image block(S3). The estimation reference data for the n+1th N×N image block are stored(S4), and the estimation reference data for the nth N×N image block is read out(S5). The estimation data of the nth N×N image block are generated(S6), and a DC(Direct Current) coefficient of the nth N×N image block is calculated(S7). If the nth N×N image block is the last image block, a thumbnail image is generated(S8,S9).
