<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a sprocket usable for a longer period of time for decreasing frequency of changing the sprocket by suppressing abrasion of a sprocket-side engagement part. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When a first engagement part 14e of one link 14 engages with a roller a<SB>1</SB>, first engagement parts of links which reach the sprocket 2 every other contact rollers 7 alternately, in the order of rollers a<SB>2</SB>, a<SB>3</SB>, ..., a<SB>20</SB>, a<SB>21</SB>, a<SB>1</SB>. As a result, all the chain engagement rollers 7 complete the engagement with the first engagement part 14e of the link 14 when the sprocket rotate two revolutions. The chain engagement rollers which are already engaged with the first engagement part are never engaged with the first engagement part again before all the chain engagement rollers complete the engagement with the first engagement part of the link.
