The structure has an auxiliary armature (16) on which a head rest of a seat is mounted. An upper guiding device (24) has a tab (40) with a lower end articulated on the armature. A guiding hole (40h) is formed in the tab, and a guiding axle (42) is slidably engaged in the hole. A dampening element (48) is mounted on an upper end of the tab to slowdown brutal return movement of the head rest due to a rearward inertial force exerted by a passenger, where the movement is generated after displacement of the head rest till a head reception point, during a rear collision subjected by a vehicle.
