<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a voice information device for surely letting even a person who has a feeling of refusal to information communication equipment, and who is not able to read electronic mail by using normal equipment know the content of the electronic mail. <P>SOLUTION: This voice information device 1 is provided with: a receiving means for receiving electronic mail; a selection means 3a for selecting information necessary for readout from received electronic mail; a generation means 3b for generating voice data from the text data of a text from the selected information; a storage means 4 for storing the text data or voice data of the text; a voice output means 5 for uttering voice data; a storage detection means 3c for detecting that the text data or voice data of the electronic mail are stored by the storage means 4; a display means 6 for displaying the detection of storage by the storage detection means 3c; and the start switch 6a of the selection means 3a, the generation means 3b, and the voice output means 5.
