<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus which includes external battery units whose built-in batteries are replaceable while the processing apparatus is driven by the built-in batteries without being connected to an AC adapter, and charges the external battery units. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The first battery unit 12 can be replaced during the second battery unit 14 is connected to the computer 1, so that the first battery unit 12 used as a main battery can be replaced without powering off and restarting a computer 1.
