<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic watch which can make display information clear on a dial plate having a simple design through a liquid crystal display part. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic clock is provided with: a semi-transparent dial plate 10; a pointer 16 which indicates a time by turning a front side of the dial plate 10; a liquid crystal display panel 17 which is disposed below the dial plate 10 and negative-displaying information in an information display area 17a; and an illumination device 20 which illuminates a back face of the liquid crystal display panel 17. Accordingly, as the liquid crystal display panel 17 is not seen through the dial plate 10 during no illumination, the whole dial plate 10 has a simple design. In addition, upon illumination, illumination light penetrates through the liquid crystal display panel 17 from an illumination device 18 and the semi-transparent dial plate 10 is irradiated with the penetrating light and is clearly light-emitted and displayed as information, thus taking a clear look at the light-emitted and displayed information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
