USE OF A WEAKLY IONIC ACRYLIC POLYMER IN THE SYNTHESIS OF PRECIPITATED CALCIUM CARBONATE

The invention consists of the use, in a process for manufacturing a mineral material including in particular a precipitated calcium carbonate, of a polymer constituted of at least one vinyl monomer chosen from acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylamide, methacrylamide or a cationic monomer, or mixtures thereof, and of at least one nonionic monomer. The use of this polymer makes it possible to reduce the carbonation time of the PCC, without however impairing its crystallographic structure and its granulometric characteristics.
