A damper (1) for furniture parts which are movable relative to one another and/or for furniture fitting components (2, 5, 6, 11, 13, 14) of a furniture fitting, wherein the damper (1) has at least two damping components (8, 9), which are mounted such that they can move relative to each other during a damping stroke, and a damping medium, which is arranged or acts between said damping components (8, 9), and at least one actuating element (7) which is operatively connected to the first damping component (9) at least during the damping stroke of the damper (1), wherein a locking device is arranged between the second damping component (8) and a retaining part (12, 27), wherein the locking device couples the second damping component (8) fixedly to the retaining part (12, 27) during the damping stroke of the damper (1), and wherein, during the return stroke of the damper (1), the locking device decouples the second damping component (8) from the retaining part (12, 27) so as to realize a freewheeling motion such that, during the return stroke of the damper (1), the second damping component (8) moves together with the first damping component (9), wherein the locking device has at least one movably mounted locking element (16, 19, 38) which is spring-loaded in the direction of the locking position, and in the locking position, couples the second damping component (8) to the retaining part (12, 27). |
