<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sulfonylurea-based turf herbicide in which the growth of turf is not inhibited, and which is safe and excellent in herbicidal activity for weeds. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The turf herbicide includes as an effective component a benzene sulfonylurea derivative compound that is represented by general formula (I), or a thiophene sulfonylurea derivative compound that is represented by formula (II).
