<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply apparatus that achieves an increase in the efficiency thereof, while minimizing an increase of loss caused by compensation for an instantaneous drop of voltage. <P>SOLUTION: The power supply apparatus includes a converter for converting an AC power to a DC power, a boosting chopper group having n (n is a natural number) cascaded boosting choppers which boost and output the DC power converted by the converter, an inverter for inverting the DC power boosted by the chopper group to an AC power, smoothing capacitors provided in a connecting point between the converter and the chopper group to reduce the level of the ripple included in the DC power output by the converter to a predetermined level or below, and n bypass diodes for bypassing the DC powers input to the n boosting choppers respectively and giving them to the inverter as the input thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
