PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus with a cleaning mechanism which can clean a recording head by necessary minimum suction force of ink and which can improve suction efficiency of ink regardless of mutual layout relation in two or more short recording heads. SOLUTION: A driven body 148 supporting a cleaner cap 152 is supported by a displacing body 146 in a state capable of being displaced in a sub-scanning direction, and inner wall faces of a casing 141 are provided at both side parts of a displacement-possible range of the displacing body 146. The displacing body 146 has a slope 147 composed of four faces which have inclination in the sub-scanning direction and toward recording heads 121 to 124 sides and which face to each other. The driven body 148 has stoppers 148c, 148d for stopping the displacement of the driven body 148 and has a rolling ring 148a rolling on the slope 147.
