PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a comparison by switching a region of interest in an internal image under observation into an image obtained through a different image process. SOLUTION: An image display apparatus includes: a storage unit 14 which stores an internal image group 14a including a same number of white light images and spectroscopic images which have a coincident positional relationship with respect to a subject and are respectively obtained through different image processes; a display unit 12 which displays at least the white light image in a display area as a regular image; an input unit 13 which indicates a display switching area of the white light image displayed in the display area; and a display controller 15. The display controller 15 controls the display unit 12 to define an image part outside the display switching area set to the regular image, as the white light image and to switch an image part inside the display switching area to an image part, having a coincident positional relationship with the image part inside the display switching area with respect to the subject, of the spectroscopic image.
