PURPOSE: A terminal and a method for controlling the same are provided to use various tactile effects of a haptic module, thereby variously notifying received calls to a user. CONSTITUTION: A haptic module(154) generates a plurality of tactile effects. A wireless communication unit(110) transceives a call. A controller(180) generates tactile effects of different patterns for notifying a call receiving fact. A contact detection sensor(142) is included in one area of a terminal body case. The contact detection sensor senses skin contact of a user.
