The sealing ring (5) has groove combs running parallel to each other, where an axial front side (8) of the sealing ring is provided with a shark-skin-like microstructure that is designed as a groove structure. The sealing ring is fixed at a housing (6) of an exhaust gas turbocharger and is engaged into a circumferential groove (7) of a shaft (1) of the exhaust gas turbocharger. The groove combs possess a pointed, wedge-shaped cross section.
