PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the passage through a boundary line with a small amount of computation even if the accuracy of GPS and map matching is low. SOLUTION: A navigation system includes a map information storage part 1 for storing map data and a boundary line storage part 2 for storing boundary lines. A moving body position detection part 4 detects a current position of a moving body on the basis of information of a position information acquisition part 4 for acquiring data of GPS, a vehicle speed sensor, and the like. A boundary line vector A and a moving body position vector B are acquired on the basis of position information M of the moving body and a start point P and an end point Q provided on a boundary line. An exterior product computation part 5 computes an exterior product of the two vectors A and B. A boundary line passage detection part 6 detects whether the moving body has passed the boundary line or not on the basis of changes in the codes of the exterior product of the two vectors A and B. A communication apparatus 9 controlled by a notification control part 7 notifies the outside of the moving body of results of the detection of the passage through the boundary line, and a notification part 10 notifies the moving body M.
