摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which is formed by forming a metal oxide film layer with a high oxygen bond ratio on the surface of a metal support while maintaining a smooth surface state in a method for manufacturing the optical film, therefore, has been improved in the releasability (peeling property) of the film, a smooth peeling property, high production speed, the productivity of the film having an optical characteristic excellent in transparency and planarity, and can respond to requirements for thinning down, widening, and quality-improving a protective film for a polarizing plate or the like in recent years, and to provide a method for forming the same, a polarizing plate and a display device. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for forming the optical film by a melting casting film formation method or a solution casting film formation method, elements of iron (Fe) and/or chromium (Cr) are contained on the surface of a metal support wherein a component element composition ratio of the surface of a metal support satisfies a relationship (Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>+FeO)/Fe=5-50, and/or (CrO<SB>2</SB>+CrO<SB>3</SB>)/Cr=10-50, and a resin melted solution or a resin solution is cast on the surface of the metal support. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
