<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic shock absorber that suppresses the maximum outer diameter of a motor rotor and shortens its entire length to thereby reduce inertia. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The motor rotor 4 has: a hollow shaft 5 fixed to a ball screw nut 3; a cylindrical magnet 6 integrally rotating with the hollow shaft 5; and a magnet supporting cylinder 7 interposed between the hollow shaft 5 and the magnet 6 for improving the magnetic characteristics of the magnet 6. Flange parts 12, 13 are formed in the hollow shaft 5 and the magnet supporting cylinder 7, respectively. A through-hole 12a into which a shaft part 11b of a bolt 11 is inserted is formed in the flange part 12 of the hollow shaft 5, and a recessed part 13a for storing a head part 11a of the bolt 11 is formed in the flange part 13 of the magnet supporting cylinder 7.
