PURPOSE: A pollution preventing apparatus for an idle air control valve is provided to prevent contaminants including gas from flowing into a valve body as a pollution preventing member surrounds the outside of a shaft operating part. CONSTITUTION: A pollution preventing apparatus for an idle air control valve comprises a valve body(10), a pintle(14), and a pollution prevention member(20). A step motor(12) is built in the valve body. The pintle is connected to the step motor and a shaft operating part(16). The pintle opens and closes an air path, which bypasses a throttle valve, by the operation of the step motor. The pollution prevention member surrounds the outside of the shaft operating part between the valve body and the pintle. The pollution prevention member prevents all kinds of contaminants from being infiltrated inside the main body of the valve.
