PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system, a method, and a navigation program capable of accurately grasping traffic conditions and contributing to the implementation of a safe and smooth travel environment by variably displaying the display mode of accident icons according to a time elapsed since the occurrence of accidents and only by glancing the accident icons. SOLUTION: When the navigation system displays square accident icons 13a-13c on a display device 2 on the basis of accident information included in VICS information, the navigation system changes the size of the appearance of the icons in three stages such as in accident icons 13a, 13b and 13c by an icon size selection part 15.
